Tina's June meeting, part 2

I can't believe I had not finished posting these.  So here are more from upline's meeting last month.

June 2009 006 This one is by Kelly Mahoney and used a brayer technique.  The link to her post explains it better.  Lovely card.

June 2009 004 This card was created by Dale.  Very simple, by very pretty.

June 2009 005 The last one I am not sure who did this one, but it is very sweet.

Thanks for looking.

One more for Christmas

July 2009 009 Here is another card I made at Stasia's a few nights ago.  It usese the same sketch as this previous post and it also uses the Autumn Days set.  Instead of a fall theme I went for a holiday one.   For this I used the markers Always Artichoke and Soft Suede to color in the stamp.  Once I was done a put a little bit of Dazzling Diamonds on each one to give it a festive feel.

Thanks for looking.  I am so excited later today UPS is coming with my first SU order of the new catalog.

The ugly bird

July 2009 011 I know it is hurtful to call this bird the ugly bird, but he is not the most attractive bird in the world.  But for some reason I love him.  This is one of my creations a few nights ago at Stasia's.  What I did was take last week's Mojo Monday sketch and turned it.  I wanted a Thanksgiving card, but I wanted an untraditional Thanksgiving card.  So I pulled out the Rich Razzleberry, why do I get the feeling this color will be pulled out a lot this year.  I also used some Sahara Sand, Very Vanilla and a little bit of Soft Sueded.  I fliped over the polka dot ribbon because I did not want this to be too busy.  And there you have the ugly bird in all of his glory.

Thanks for looking .  This is card three for my 10-10-25 class.

Christmas in July

P1090376 This week's colors are Ruby Red, Mellow Moss, Kraft, and Very Vanilla.  I knew right away I wanted to make a Christmas card.  It is never too early to start thinking about Christmas especially when you are paper crafting.  I knew I wanted to use the Holly Jolly Christmas set and I paired it with theMojo Monday sketch of the week.  This is another card we will be making at the 10-10-25 class coming up on July 24.  I hope to see you there.

Thanks for looking.

New stampset

July 2009 010 I have not done a Splitcoast sketch challenge in a long time, but I saw this sketch and had to do it.  I love it nice and simple.  I knew right away I wanted to make a Autumn card for my 10-10-25 class.  So I used the Autumn Days set, or as I call it with Stasia the Ugly bird set.  In addition the the bird, the set has some leaves and other pretty flowers/plants.  I pulled out my new colors, Rich Razzleberry, Dusty Durango, Soft Suede, and Crushed Curry.  Because I did this at Stasia's home I borrowed her new Modern label punch and you know what.  I added it to my current order.  Another thing I used on the card is Color Spritzer Tool.  I love the way it dirty's the card up, but in a good way.

So if you are coming to the class this is card one.  I hope you can make it.  Check out the blog later in the week for the Christmas version.  Thanks for looking.

Scrapbook Sunday #51- My Boys Scallop punch

May 008 May 007 Today's page features the late great Baja Breeze.  I can't believe it is gone.  The paper is Parisian Breeze which was so great for boys, but at the same time had little touches to it that made it great for either sex.  This page was inspired by a page in Creating Keepsakes a few months ago.  Jennifer McGuire who does the tools and techniques pages in each magazine had a whole article on how to use scallops.  She layered different multiple scallop borders to get a really cool look.  So I did the same with the Parisian Breeze paper and came up with this cool layout.  The flowers were from a swap I did at Tina, my upline's home, and they were made by Kathryn Roberts.  She use the big daisy Sizzix die, layered each of the flowers and put a Chocolate Chip corduroy button in the middle.

Thanks for looking.

Happy Birthday

June 001 Today's card I needed to make for Alex and Daniel's friend.  We are going to her party today and I needed a card.  So with the colors of the week, Ruby Red, Sahara Sand, Cameo Coral, and Mojo Monday I can up with this card.  I did not have much of the Cameo Coral left except for one tiny scrap, so I pulled out the retiring as of today, Raspberry Tart paper.  I used the Sizzix Bold Cupcakes, and the criper on the on bottom of the cupcake.

Thanks for looking.

PS:  Tomorrow I will post the matching bag and tag.

Scrapbook Sunday #50-Chilly

May 020 May 019 Here is the final page I finished that day over Stasia's home.  It's funny I was over there on Friday and I used this layout again for some pictures of Daniel.  I will show that at a later point.  In the mean time.  Once again I used the retired Frosty Day paper, Sizzix Snowflakes, Mr. Twigster (who unfortunately did not make the new catalog),and the rhinestone brads.

Thanks so much for looking.  A few more day until the new catalog.  Are you excited?  Let me know if you need a copy.

Goodbye '09 Colors

June 2009 097 This week's colors of the week are saying goodbye to some of the '09 in Colors,  Kiwi Kiss, Baja Breeze, Riding Hood Red, Kraft, Chocolate Chip.  These colors were suggested by my friend Deb who is celebrating a birthday this week.  I actually used a Mojo Monday sketch suggestion.   My buddy Stasia has been going there the past few weeks for inspiration.  I did not use the big scallop border because I did not like how it looked with this set.  But otherwise it is the same sketch.

Thanks for looking.

Scrapbook Sunday #49-Frosty Day

May 021 May 022 Last Sunday I put up a winter page and this week I am going to do the same.  I think I have at least one more Winter page for next week.  This page also uses the Retired Frosty Day paper, Go Go Boots alphabet, and the Snowflake Sizzix dies.  I think Stasia and I are getting together on Friday night again, but thank God I don't have anymore winter pages to complete.

Thanks for looking.

Thanks so much for looking.

Colors of the week as promised

June 2009 001 (4) June 2009 002 (4) Here's my color of the week.  I just needed to put the last touches on it.  I used the colors of the week Real Red, Garden Green, Tempting Turquoise, More Mustard and came up with the box.  I know this has been done before on a box, but the size is 2 1/2 on the bottom and then 2 1/2, 5, 7 1/2, and 10 across.  I used the eyelet punch for the top, the Just Beachy set for the picture and the wheel that mateches it across the whole box.  Speaking of Just Beachy you only a few more days to get that.  It is not in the new catalog.  So if you like it get it now.

Thanks for looking.

Some Sneak Peaks from Tina's

I know I am a little late on my colors of the week.  They should be up by tomorrow.  In the meantime I am putting up a sneak peak from my Upline Tina's.  We had a meeting and the theme of the swap was new items to the catalog.

June 2009 010The first photo was done by my good friend Tracy.  She made me a similiar card to this for my birthday, I will try to get that up at a later point.  The card is like a bag on a card.  It is great for gift cards.  She used the new Razzleberry Lemonade paper.

June 2009 003 (2) The next card was made by buddy Louise Del Vecchio.  She is a sideline to me as she and I sort of joke she is my Aunt.  I love this card very simple and elegant.

June 2009 003 The last card I made.  Great Friend made it into the catalog, so I get to keep using it.  Yeah.  I also used the Razzleberry Lemonade paper.  I am loving the Rich Razzleberry.  This card was based on a sketch from the Thanks so Much card.

Thanks for looking.

Scrapbook Sunday #48-First Snow

May 018 May 017 I am not sure why I am posting this one today.  Maybe because it was just about 6 months ago or maybe because it does not feel like summer yet in NJ.   I completed this page a few weeks ago at Stasia's.  The layout was a Becky Higgins sketch that had all the pictures on the page, but had not yet emblished the page.  The paper is the retired Frosty Day.  I used Stasia's Sizzix Snow flakes set and her rhinestone brads for a little pop.  I had so many winter pages to do that day by the end of the night I was so sick of Snowflakes.  Check back next Sunday  for more winter pages, but throughout the week check out the blog for more creations with the new colors.

Thanks for looking.

New colors

June 2009 001 June 2009 002 Today I am showing off two of the new '10 In Colors, Soft Suede and Bermuda Bay.  As soon as I got the new colors and new catalog I knew I wanted to use Sense of Time.  So I quickly put the one on the right together.  But I was not happy with it, so yesterday I started to play with the idea again and came up with the one on the left.  One note the ribbon is the polka dot ribbon Bermuda Bay, but with the card I did not like ribbon with the card.  Luckily if you flip it to the opposite side it is plain and with the card it looks great.  I don't mind the little peak of Polka dot with the knot, but I did not want all polka dot.

Thanks for looking, check me out today I will be at the Bethlehm Evangelical Lutheran Church, Ridgewood, NJ from 2-5.

Some gifts from Stasia

April 2009 007 (2) May 001 (3) May 003 Today's post is gifts and cardsI got from Stasia over the last month.  The first one was my birthday card.  Because of this card I had to buy the big Sizzix Scallop circle.  I use it all of the time now.   I am not sure how to describe the second photo, but it is like a wallet scrapbook.  I love it.  I have to learn how to do it.  Finally the last card was my Mother's Day card from her.  She is so talented I love getting things in the mail or in person from her.

Also a quick reminder I will be here tomorrow:

The Mary Therese Rose Fund allows children to “reclaim the joys of childhood.” Mary passed away just weeks before her fifth birthday from a rare syndrome called Joubert syndrome.  It is with great joy that Mary can continue to spread such happiness through this fund.  There are many children with disabilities that require certain things to be able to make life even more of a pleasure.  The fund pays for such expenses that insurance does not cover.  This includes, but is not limited to, hearing aids, walkers, wheelchairs, braces, intensive therapies, and therapeutic activities such as therapeutic horseback riding.  As each child is able to enjoy the simple pleasures of childhood and life because of the fund, Mary’s beautiful smile spreads from face to face.  It is these smiles that will forever keep Mary’s life a celebration of love, joy, hope, simplicity and happiness.
